FITNESS
I played varsity tennis in high school, but I never really considered myself to be athletic. Then, after college, I decided it would be a good idea to start from scratch and train for a 25K. It was then, as the training runs got longer, that I finally saw what I could do if I pushed my body. I completed the run, beat my goal time, and ended up in physical therapy for IT band issues. After 6 months, I was cleared
After my son was born, I wanted my post-running, pre-pregnancy body back. I started strength training and saw incredible results without all the sweating that came with intense cardio. Bonus. Then, once I was back in shape, I was pregnant again. I continued to be active throughout my pregnancy and my body bounced back quickly.
Now, 4 years later, strength training, cardio, and yoga are all part of my routine. My quest is not to be skinny, but to be strong and healthy. I love being able to help other women work on their fitness and health, as well.
I know I am at my best when I take care of my body.
